We believe in our community. We’ve done so for 32 years. We strive each day to better understand our community and are continuously committed to leaning in and doing our part to create pathways to economic prosperity through employment opportunities and ownership. Here we stand on a precipice of having endured a global pandemic that has stifled the economic system and now we are experiencing the unrest due to historic injustices to the African American community. Now more than ever, we need to recommit ourselves to living our core values out loud: Team before Self, Find a Better Way, Grow by Learning, Commit to Serving and Do the Right Thing.
We are committed to operating in excellence through our efforts to create more opportunities for people. We will continue as a company to be welcoming. We will continue to educate ourselves and recognize the unconscious biases that we possess and work diligently to treat persons equally with dignity and respect. We will continue to promote a culture of open communication that empowers the individual and recognizes their own, unique lived experience. We believe that Black lives do indeed matter.
It has been said, “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” And so, we ask all of you: team members, clients, and our community to join us in this journey for equality. We will continue to stand against racism and inequality. We will continue to support ethnically diverse communities, and foster hope and opportunity. We know that we can and must do better. We want to be part of the solution and we aspire to be a model employer here in Michigan. The time is now.
